I bought my first* Playstation 2 in 2023
It's been 22 years in the mighty PS2 arrived on the scene, so I figured it was time to finally see what all the fuss was about.

Sega SC-3000 - RGB Upgrade!

Sega's first foray into the world of computers was the SC-3000, based on their console of the time, the SG-1000. Unsurprisingly for the day, it's limited to either RF or (poor) composite video. The lynx 2 was too far and grubby the lynx 1 I had when they first came out more of a nice fit for cases without the heavy bulge
There are some spectacular games in the CPC homebrew scene, which is still very much alive. There are plenty of tools and tutorials around as well, and programming the CPC is a lot of fun.
Great video, man! Lurch, what is your real name?
If possible, try to get Zaxxon and play it. Great game it was! ❤
Zaxxon was a great game in the 80s. I had a CoCo II 64K RAM at home.
You can tell this Speccy didn't belong to urchins. The lack of finger gravy on the dead flesh keys could only mean the owner was conscious of personal hygiene. My old Speccy was filthy. I cleaned it in 2016 and instantly regretted removing its unique patina. All that dirty history lost.
please Put Decepticon logo's sticker on his chest..😅❤❤
I have an old Dunjonquest: Temple of Apshai cassette for the Atari.
A few games supported the Amstrad joystick port. The DOS port of Driller for one.
I won that at the arcade for 8,000 tickets and even though i lost the tv cable i do enjoy it
😂😂 funny I had my for years never a problem dont buy it of get it free then ....ok rule
s the entrance to my own rabbit hole back in the late 70s. Happy days.
Great video
Can you make that bracket file available or can I buy one from you
Next DMA controller
Is that an Armatron on your tshirt? Never had a Nintendo but I did have an Armatton as a child!
Well done! I enjoyed your humour and your obvious self confidence.
My eMac had the stand also, and you are right it just looks much better. Miss my eMac I do.
Ah! You young kids! We old farts know exactly which way the turntable goes! Saw it as soon as you turned it on. Even knew "Angels in a centrefold" as soon as it started. J. Geils Band.
i have a megafile 30 but when i turn it on the activity light is CONSTANTLY on and stays on all the time. the drive revs up and the heads "click" once for a splitsecond and thats it. it doesnt show up on the STe and it seems there is something fundamentally wrong with it which is sad. i have reseated the rom chip and the cables that go to the drive but as much expectedt that didnt help. all the boards look fine i guess. idk what to do anymore have you got any idea what to do? maybe a specific chip thats responsible for the selfcheck at the start? idk im clueless tbh.
Expected video about adventure games on ZX81 )))
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an eMac with its stand. Didn’t even know that was a thing. It really elevates the look of the thing.
same size case and keyboard as the c64?
Awesome I have an iq1000 sealed new never opened and I also have a iq 2000 sold it yesterday in box and 2 wireless controllers love these
Can Micro Genius hookup on FDS??
53/2=26.5, but nice to see you're very exacting in your methods!
very nice.
I got a Timex Sinclair on craigslist for free complete in original foam box looking new. Found an old black and white TV too. We are gonna go raw.
It's far better the original machine, the Minimig implementation in UnAMIGA haven't the PAL 28'37516Mhz Clock!
Now that ya got-er-done whatcha gonna do with it? 🤔My projects like this after all the hard work and a few days of tinkering it goes onto a shelf or boxed up for bragging rights!
Cool video.
I missed the before situation. My CPC64 does this (I have no video cable yet): - Red LED lights up. - DEL delivers a beep from the speaker - FF and REW make the two axles in the drive spin - Continuous beep coming from the speaker, less loud then the DEL beep. - Play does not work Is that similar to your issue?
I wonder if partitioning the SSD would curb the storage issue.
I had one before a house fire, it was definitely one of my favorite macs ever. It was great in every way except expansion.you need the base, the base was awesome. This was no cheap mac, it was better then the imac except for the size. I used it for watching dvds, and I modded it to use it as a minityfor my video game systems as well with the great speakers it was perfect
The Parceiro is an elegant solution.
The ps2 5000 Model is the quitest model
I had one of these! Had it for a year then bought the ZX Spectrum. Had the tape drive that attached to the side of the Wizzard. Used to play 10 pin bowling on it!
99gpb is a joke
I know it is late now, but you should have linked to all of this stuff you bought for this project... you could have also done Amazon affiliate links and made a few cents over the past 2 years. Are you still using the vapor system, or did you go back to one of the others?
Where can I get a ps2
4:24 Street Fighter II never had a licensed NES port, at all.
Sega did something very similar, with the Saturn Console. It's called GameBASIC and just like this, it was only available in Japan.
I just finished fixing up a IIcx that was a complete basket case. It was dirty as hell, it wouldn't boot, it didn't have any RAM, and something spilled down the front, rusting the speaker out. I had to completely recap the mainboard, swap in a speaker from another dead Mac, dismantle, clean, and replace the eject mechanism gear in the disk drive, which had completely crumbled. Then, after I got it working again, two Rifa caps blew in the PSU, stinking up my house! I replaced those with new class-X caps, but in doing so, I ended up killing it. So I found a replacement PSU out of a Performa 600, got it all put together, sourced another SCSI hard drive, and finally booted it last night--over a year after I bought the thing. So far so good, though. It's certainly no powerhouse by today's standards, but given that it came out in 1989, when the average PC was lucky to have a VGA card, the graphics capabilities of this old computer were mind-boggling.
Tip for you, if you run a command and forget to prefix it with sudo you can just do 'sudo !!' (without quotes) - it's been around forever as part of history substitution - useful when on constrained shells without all the modern magic. Love the vid btw, getting a vt220 or 320 has been on my bucket list for a long time but they don't often come up in the UK at a sane price.
Play MAZIACS next!
My friends father bought one of these back in the 80s from the UK. Later he bought DKtronics hard case with real keyboard for it. It also had programmable rom in it you could create your own characters sets, Oh thejoys of entering in big REM statements with characters in them, which you would POKE to be in machine code. Then runnng it and it crashed because you put in the wrong hex code - the many hours debugging that so I could play some version of space invaders or Hangman! What I really loved was the computer mags -- C&VG and Popular computing weekly. Of course in NZ they were 3 moonths behind! A game I bought with my own money was PIMania - I wonder if that prize was every won?
As Dave on the eevblog would say, "Don't turn it on, take it apart!!"
Amiga was pretty much unusable for any serious work. Its only display option were 3rd party RGB monitors, giving out a flickering CGA-like display that couldn't display single-pixel lines. EGA monitors were so much better.
Just used my armatron....nice shirt btw
There is already c-sync on the 7pin.
